Søren Riis is focusing on analyzing and assessing new technologies from the point of view of innovative thinking and ethics. This preoccupation has lead to projects and articles about the creative potentials of Internet tools, re-thinking the connection between economy and ethics, new educational initiatives and the development of methods for user-driven innovation.
Søren Riis has been co-authoring Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies' strategy book Creative Man (2004), working in the OECD Advisory Unit to the Secretary-General and he is the co-founder of the Internet-based technology for green transportation.
During his PH.D.-studies on philosophy of technology he as been studying in Germany, France and USA, where he was a visiting researcher at Harvard University.
Currently he works as an associate professor of philosophy and science studies and focuses on designing a new education at Roskilde University, which combines technology studies and humanities (Hum-Tek).
