Jarl Frijs-Madsen is former head of the Danish Trade Council and Consul General and Ambassador in New York. He is a Master of Economics from Copenhagen University, and his main focus is globalization and internationalization:
“I have through my international work seen how global connections influence social development, market forces and the business opportunities of companies. Globalization is dynamic and doesn’t move in a linear fashion. I am concerned with the overarching trends and their consequences for business, industries and the individual company – how globalization in some areas will evolve with accelerating speed, while others will lose steam or even decline. Companies will experience new opportunities and risks, and changes will happen more rapidly than before."
Jarl Frijs-Madsen is experienced in global trade, outsourcing, investments, and innovation from his more than 15 years with the Danish Trade Council under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has worked and lived in Tokyo, Bonn, Warsaw, and New York. In 2007, he supplemented his Master’s with management training from Henley Business School.
Besides being Associate Partner at the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies, Jarl Frijs-Madsen advises companies and organizations of concrete internationalization projects, including how you take a successful business concept and scale it internationally.
