TRENDMAPPING AS THE BASIS FOR STRATEGY
GLOBAL TRENDS TOWARDS 2050
Developing the trend book Future Outlook: 100 Global Trends for 2050
The Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, United Arab Emirates
To map 100 of the most important global trends towards 2050 as a basis for further strategy
Process and result
The Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future of the United Arab Emirates collaborated with CIFS to define and analyse the most important global trends towards 2050 in technology, economy, business models, demographics, infrastructure, security & defence, competences & jobs, environment, and governance. The goal of the project was threefold: to define the strategic context of the Emirates in a broad sense towards 2050 and form the basis for long-term strategy development for government-level decision makers; to reassess current assumptions, expectations, and uncertainties about future challenges and opportunities; and to form the basis for the government’s future work with foresight and trend analysis.
