Sofie Hvitved elected to join the Danish Media Board

The Institute is proud to announce that Futurist and Senior Advisor at the Institute, Sofie Hvitved, has been elected to join the Danish Media Board.

Futurist and Senior Advisor at the Institute, Sofie Hvitved, has been elected to join the Danish Media Board. The board processes applications and decides on grants for printed and online news media published in accordance with the Danish Media Support Act. These include editorial production support, which is a grant based on the media's editoral costs and the innovation support, which is a grant on a project-basis for establishment of news media and for the development of existing news media.

The board consists of the following members:

  • Vibeke Borberg (Chairman), Lawyer and Ph.D.
  • Per Lyngby, Journalist
  • Sofie Hvitved, Associated Partner and Futurist
  • Camilla Mehlsen, Digital media consultant
  • Marie Louise Gørvild, Deputy Director
  • Karin Mette Thomsen, Chief of Secretariat
  • Mathias Bruun, Principal and Publishing Manager

The Media Board is appointed by the Minister of Culture and represents expertise in news dissemination, the media market, journalistic innovation, media consumption and the media's democratic function and technological development. also supervises compliance of grant recipients with the grant conditions.

The tenure period extends from January 1st, 2022 to December 31st, 2025.
