Exploring foresight at the frontier of AI - How to prepare for the futures in an AI-mediated world

The landscape of futures and foresight is undergoing a radical transformation. Artificial intelligence, once seen ‘just’ as a tool for efficiency, has evolved into a force reshaping how we perceive, imagine, plan, and innovate for the future. The approaches we use to envision the future are evolving; from predictive algorithms that supportdecision-making to Agentic AI systems capable of producing creative and strategic outputs.

This shift demands a new AI-mediated framework approach that embrace AI to enhance the practice of futures and foresight. The ‘Futures & Foresight with AI’ course is an explorative and participatory journey into the possible futures of foresight in an AI-mediated world.

Rather than focusing on “how to prompt” or technical training, the course invites you to engage with cases, guest speakers, and live examples of how AI is already being integrated into foresight practice. Together, we will explore pockets of the future - equipping you to be on the frontier of foresight and AI.

In other words, this is a step into the future of foresight.

Course Content

The course offers a comprehensive exploration of the intersection of AI, foresight, and innovation. It is less about immediate application of tools and more about preparing for the possible futures of AI in foresight, and addresses how AI is reshaping traditional foresight and strategy practices. Expect interactive discussions, real-world cases, and explorative exercises that open up new perspectives on what AI-native foresight could become.

The course goes beyond merely exploring AI’s potential, emphasising its critical and responsible application by integrating AI-driven insights with human judgment and established foresight methods, while also exploring societal and environmental considerations at large.
