The landscape of futures and foresight is undergoing a radical transformation. Artificial intelligence, once seen ‘just’ as a tool for efficiency, has evolved into a force reshaping how we perceive, imagine, plan, and innovate for the future. The approaches we use to envision the future are evolving – from predictive algorithms that support decision-making to generative AI systems capable of producing creative and strategic outputs.

This shift demands a new AI-mediated framework approach that embrace AI to enhance the practice of futures and foresight.

The ‘Futures & Foresight with AI’ course is a practical exploration of how to work with foresight and innovation in an AI-mediated framework. You will learn how to apply AI tools and techniques to real-world foresight challenges, enabling you to develop more robust and innovative strategies. Through expert facilitation and hands-on learning, you will be equipped with the tools and insights needed to more effectively integrate AI into the field of foresight and for driving innovation. In other words, this is a step into the future of foresight.

Navigating Uncertainties in AI: You will gain a deeper understanding of the transformative impact of generative AI on foresight, innovation, and society at large, while critically exploring the uncertainties, risks, and ethical dilemmas posed by rapid advancements in AI and other technologies.

Analyzing Trends and Building Scenarios Using AI: You will learn how to integrate AI into foresight work, including identifying and analyzing trends, addressing critical uncertainties, and building strategically relevant alternative future scenarios for longer-term planning.

Create Your Own AI futurist: You will design and develop your own personalised AI-powered tool to support your foresight endeavours.

Build community: The opportunity to cultivate a futures-ready mindset working alongside CIFS AI experts and futurists, while building community by exchanging experiences and ideas with like-minded business professionals from other organisations and industries.

Course Content

The course offers a comprehensive exploration of the intersection of AI, foresight, and innovation, with a focus on both practical and strategic applications. It addresses how AI is reshaping traditional foresight, strategy, and innovation practices.

The course goes beyond merely exploring AI’s potential, emphasising its critical and responsible application by integrating AI-driven insights with human judgment and established foresight methods, while also exploring societal and environmental considerations at large.

Format

This intensive two-day on-site course takes place at CIFS in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The course combines presentations with hands-on activities, allowing participants to directly apply AI tools, facilitated by CIFS Senior Futurists and AI experts Sofie Hvitved and Bugge Holm Hansen. Throughout, we will contextualise and discuss what we have learned.

Please note that access to AI tools and licenses is not included in the course fee; however, participation does not require access to any specific paid tools.

Seats are limited to secure close interaction and feedback in the group.

Day 1: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (CET), followed by an informal evening event (optional).

Day 2: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (CET).
