As AI and technology becomes increasingly embedded in everything from infrastructure to our imagination, the critical questions we need to ask becomes even more relevant: What’s human, what’s machine - and how do we navigate the entangled, uncertain futures in between?

At the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies, we explore the messy middle. We're exploring both the spark of innovation, and the ripple effects it sends through society, culture and democracy. 

Because here’s the thing: technology and AI aren't good or bad. But they’re definitely not neutral either. They mirror our choices, our values - and sometimes, our blind spots. That’s why we use futures thinking to unpack how ethics, immersive interfaces and Agentic AI connect in unexpected (and sometimes unsettling) ways. 

As part of our agenda, we also explore how the future of media - increasingly liquid, synthetic, and generative - both mirrors and amplifies societal shifts, shaping an AI-mediated information ecosystem of tomorrow.

This is not about predicting the future. It’s about being prepared –with nuance, intention, and a healthy dose of curiosity.
